My name is Jake Mac and I am a visual artist from Brighton, currently living in Manchester, England. I am 22 years old and I have just finished my degree at Manchester School of Art, where I will be living for the indefinite future. I have been creating  visual arts since I was 15 years old.

My dominant photographic practice focuses on portraiture and the questions which it poses - with imaging people, we are presented with concepts of psychology, philosophy, conventions and traditions. My work is experimental and depends on the people I have around me and the feelings which can be created when shooting. I am interested in what portraiture can be, rather than what it is. In exploring the possibilities of Augmented Reality within my work, I have become naturally interested in the relationship between still & moving imagery.

Further, I have co-created Manchester based arts publication Cluny MCR. In this, I control designs, aesthetics and curation, as well as collating content in the form of photography, graphic design, illustration and film. My partner, Louis, collates music, mixtape & writing.
